Santiago Ojeda-Ramírez

I'm a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine. My work explores the intersections of AI, speculative design, and interdisciplinary STEM and arts (STEAM) education. I focus on empowering youth to participate not just as users of AI systems, but as active creators who can shape technological landscapes in ways that promote civic engagement. I take an interdisciplinary approach, blending learning-through-design and participatory research methodologies to rethink how we teach and learn with AI. I am a 2025 National Academy of Education/Spencer Dissertation Fellow.
